Vice President Procurement of Johnson Controls Automotive Seating receives Rising Star Award
Joergen Ernst receives prestigious industry award

Burscheid, Germany – June 10, 2015 For the second time in three years, the prestigious Rising Star Award went to an executive of the multi-industrial company Johnson Controls. Joergen Ernst, vice president procurement complete seat in the company’s Automotive Seating division, received the Rising Star Award in the Purchasing category on June 9, 2015 in Birmingham, UK. The award is conferred annually by the trade magazine Automotive News Europe to leading executives from the automotive industry.

“I am delighted to receive this award – it is a great recognition of our work. I am particularly proud that our global teams have successfully overcome major challenges in the past few years, and have kept a positive spirit,” said Joergen Ernst at the award ceremony.

The jury was most impressed by the successful integration process of the global procurement organization after acquisitions in 2010 and 2011; the joint development of sophisticated cost models with suppliers; and the establishment of a stable risk management system. The approach of a structured and measurable supplier innovation process, which will also become part of the Johnson Controls Operating System implemented throughout the company, was also rated positively. In addition, the process will be measured by an advanced scorecard system.

The Rising Star Award honors the outstanding achievements of pan-European executives who have driven change and innovation with their work and made bold executive decisions. Out of the approximately 150 candidates nominated, this year the jury bestowed the award on 14 leading executives of automakers and automotive suppliers.

“Our 2015 Rising Stars inspire and impress us not only with their achievements so far. We also see them as future leaders who will make a valuable contribution to our industry in the coming decade,” said Jason Stein, publisher and editor-in-chief of Automotive News Europe, at the award ceremony.
