Johnson Controls receives Superbrands Award in Slovakia
Company recognized for dynamic brand development

Bratislava, Slovakia – 14 April 2015. Johnson Controls, a global multi-industrial company with established core businesses in the automotive, building and energy storage industries, has received the Business Superbrands Award in Slovakia. Superbrands is an international brand recognition program.

“With approximately 5.500 employees, Johnson Controls is one of the leading international companies in Slovakia. The Slovak Business Superbrands Award is a great recognition of our employees’ outstanding work and community involvement,” said Michael Petersen, vice president Global Business Services at Johnson Controls.

The winners of the Slovak Business Superbrands Awards were chosen by the Slovak Business Brand Council. Members of this committee are recognized professionals in the fields of marketing, communication and advertising. They have granted this award to companies in Slovakia that successfully develop elite brands with a dynamic brand image. The Superbrands program was established 20 years ago in the United Kingdom and is now in 90 countries worldwide.

Johnson Controls is very involved in the communities where its offices and plants are located: In 2014 no other company participated with more volunteers in Slovakia’s country-wide volunteer initiative “Naše Mesto” (“Our City”). Johnson Controls and its Slovak employees support the local communities with many smaller projects, too. The company also sponsors the relay race of the popular CSOB Bratislava Marathon.

Johnson Controls operates nine locations in Slovakia. Its business center in Bratislava supports Finance, IT, Purchasing, Sales, Human Resources and Program Management while the technology center in Trencin develops and tests components for automotive seats and automotive interiors. In Lozorno, Johnson Controls operates a plant that produces complete seat systems for major German automotive brands. In Zilina, the company operates three plants: One that produces complete seat systems, another for fabrics and a third that manufactures interior components for automotive customers. The company’s plant in Martin produces trim covers and its plant in Lučenec produces head restraints and foam parts for automotive seats. In Námestovo, Johnson Controls manufactures door panels, floor consoles and other automotive interior components.
